OUTLINE
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them. There are around 700,000 people on the Autism Spectrum in the UK – that’s more than 1 in 100, of which if you include their families, Autism is part of daily life for over 2.8 million people (British Medical Association, 2020). At Autism Union we aim to raise awareness of ASD and the implications it has upon children and their families on a daily basis. We provide practical advice, alongside our own personal experiences of living with Autism.
